SF Express Acquires Kerry Logistics 51%
Chinese courier giant SF Holdings is weighing raising as much as US$5 billion (HK$39 billion) through a secondary listing in Hong Kong, Bloomberg reported yesterday citing sources.
The firm, also known as SF Express, is also considering other options, including a Hong Kong initial public offering of its main courier business, the report said. The Shenzhen-listed courier giant has held preliminary discussions with potential advisers on the proposed deal, the source said.
But SF Express said in a statement yesterday that it currently has no plan for a Hong Kong IPO.
Its shares pared losses in Shenzhen after the Bloomberg News report, ending the day 1.9 percent lower. The stock has more than doubled this year as demand for parcel delivery surges because of the Covid-19 pandemic. SF Express has a market value of about 357.5 billion yuan (HK$422.95 billion).
